X + 2Y + 24 = C.........(1)

From Triangle GOC, Y + 21 = C/2 and so

2Y + 42 = C .......(2)

From (1) & (2), X + 2Y + 24 = 2Y + 42 = C

Hence X + 24 = 42

Therefore X = 18
