  2. Draw FP// CD ( P is on AD)
    Since F is the midpoint of AE so FP= .5*CD= 6
    GH= 1/(FP+CD)= 9

  3. Extend HG to meet BC at K. Draw FL // AB, L on BC

    Applying mid point theorem to Tr.s ABE & CFL,
    GK = FL/2 = (AB/2)/2 = AB / 4 = CD/4 = 12 / 4 = 3

    Now CDHK is a parallelogram
    So GH = HK - GK = 12 - 3 = 9
