  1. Extend DA to E such that AB = AE. Complete rectangle BCDF, F on AD

    @ = < CBD = < BDE = < BEA since ABE is isosceles

    So Tr. BED is isosceles F is the mid point of DE

    Hence BC = DF = 36/2 = 18
