name Sa area surrounded by S4, S5, S6
ReplyDeletefrom P167
S1 + S2 + S3 = S5 + Sa
add in each side 1/4 ABCD (as AOD or DOC)
S1 + S2 + S3 + ( S4 + Sa ) = S5 + Sa + ( S6 )
S1 + S2 + S3 + S4 = S5 + S6
-----------------------------------------
Let S7 be the area of the blue triangle between S4 & S5
ReplyDeleteWith the help of problem 167, S6+S7=S1+S2+S3 & S5=S4+S7 as of the mid-pt of the //gram
Summing up the 2 equation, S5+S6=S1+S2+S3+S4
