name a, b, side of A1, A2 => SA3 = a² + b²

ReplyDeletefour uncolored tr have same area (a∙b)/2

S four tr + A1 + A2 + A3 = 2a∙b + 2a² + 2b² (1)

S trapezoid with left side of A1 and right side of A2

= (a+b)(2a+2b)/2 = a² + 2a∙b + b² (2)

(1) - (2) = a² + b² give area of A ( see P508)

Nicely proved. Thanks
