Let BO intersect circle O at D

DC=SQRT(4R^2-a^2)

Apply Ptolemy’s theorem to Cyclic quadrilateral ABCD :

AC.BD=AB.CD+BC.AD

Replace values of AB, CD, BC, AD ,AC and BD in above equation we will get the result
